This article is intended to help Mira Prism Pro and Prism Pro Hardhat users who are using their Mira headset in loud environments where use of their phone's built-in speaker and microphone might be difficult to adequately communicate with. The following is our recommendation for an optimal off-the-shelf bluetooth audio headphone accessory with PPE hearing protection:
1) 3M Peltor X Series Earmuffs*
2) 3M's PELTOR 67137 Wireless Communication Accessory for X Series Earmuffs.
*The earmuffs provide hearing protection, and the wireless communication accessory provides the audio and microphone.
1) 3M Peltor X Series Earmuffs
There are two recommended options based on your Mira Prism Pro headset form factor:
-
-
- Over the head compatible earmuffs optimal for use with the Mira Prism Pro
-
- Hardhat compatible earmuffs optimal for use with the Mira Prism Pro Hardhat
- Hardhat compatible earmuffs optimal for use with the Mira Prism Pro Hardhat
-
Each pair of earmuffs has a sku variant based on decibel range: simply select the one that best fits your environment and/ or PPE requirements.
2) 3M Peltor X Series Wireless Communication Accessory
In order for you to get the full wireless headset experience from your 3M PELTOR earmuffs you would need to also purchase the 3M PELTOR 67137 Wireless Communication Accessory.
The 3M PELTOR Wireless Communication Accessory, combined with the 3M X Series earmuffs can help keep you protected while allowing you to communicate via Mira Connect in noisy environments. The wireless communication accessory replaces one of the ear pads on your 3M PELTOR X Series earmuffs and installs easily to enable full bluetooth audio functionality.
- Talk/Streaming Time: Approx. 8 hours
- Standby Time: Approx. 250 hours
- Charge Time: Approx. 3 hours
NOTE: the 3M PELTOR Wireless Communication Accessory only enables audio in one ear. This reduces any wires or need to synchronize two different devices and to enable wearers unobstructed hearing in one ear to stay aware of their environment. Please be aware that audio in one ear is the intended behavior.
