Mira uses the internet to enable Connect calls. For this reason, it's important to have a fast and reliable network. It's possible that you will need to configure your network in accordance with Mira's network configurations specification.
The following table outlines the expected call quality in accordance with the outlined network speed and package loss.

If everything has been set up correctly and you are still experiencing connectivity or call quality issues, consider the following optimizations:
-
Increase the bandwidth available on wifi access points. Regardless of the peer connection strategy available, and the other network configurations, bandwidth from the device to the network is always going to be a potential bottleneck. In some conditions, consider utilizing a secondary network, or access point (AP) with a separate SSID that is configured for higher bandwidth aka. faster upload/download speeds.
-
Setup favorable networks conditions for using STUN to create the peer connection. UDP should be allowed on the ports specified, and not have a symmetric NAT configuration.
If you can't make these changes yourself, talk to your IT department. Making these configurations can help reduce:
-
Latency: The time it takes the RTP (media) packets to arrive at the destination. Latency can cause media delivery delays and callers might speak over the top of each other.
-
Packet loss: Packets that don't make it to the final destination. Packet loss can cause gaps and cut-outs in media and callers might not hear the other side.
-
Jitter: Packets that arrive at the destination out of order. Jitter causes a ‘robotic’ distortion effect in media, or packet loss when overrunning the jitter buffer.
In order for Connect to work correctly, please configure your network as described below.
