The following article provides a comprehensive guide on how to execute a workflow using your Mira Prism headset.

1. How to navigate to a published workflow
Once a workflow has been published via the Mira web suite, it is made available to users with access to the Collection in which the workflow has been created. Learn more about setting up Collections.
A note on online and offline access to workflows:
- To access a published workflow, the iPhone device you're logging into the Mira Prism app on must be online in order for the workflow(s) to be made available for use on the Mira Prism headset. The workflows are made available once they have downloaded.
- Once workflow(s) are available on the Prism headset, it can be performed offline until the workflow(s) are ready to be uploaded for reporting. Learn more on uploading workflows.
- If the Mira Prism app is paired to a team, it only requires one user in the team to be online initially for the paired Prism to download all workflows in Collection(s) shared with that team. After that, other users in that team are able to log in offline and have access to workflows in their team’s Collection(s).
To navigate to a workflow, dwell on the Flow icon (shown below) on the Prism headset main menu.
Once Flow has been launched, you'll be shown a list of sub-folders and/or separate workflows. This structure depends on how the Collections made available to you were set up.
To open/launch, dwell on the blue arrow to the right.
2. How to start a workflow
Once a workflow on the Prism headset has been selected, you'll see an overview of the workflow, including the title, date, description and reference image (if applicable), and the number of steps.
To start the workflow, dwell on the start button.
3. How to complete the steps in a workflow
Once a workflow has started, you can either complete all steps, or cancel at any time (see section on how to end a workflow before completion).
Mira Flow supports several step types, known “build types”, which ask for specific inputs in order to complete the step.
To be able to complete a workflow, you must input selections as required at each step.
1. Yes/No input: Dwell on either the “Yes” or “No” button to select and complete the step.
2. Multiple Choice input: Dwell on either one or more options, if the step was set up to enable more than one answer multiple choice options.
3. Number input: Dwell on the input field to open a numeric input keyboard. Dwell on numbers to select them, “Enter” to confirm, “Back” to delete, or “Cancel” to return back to the step.
5. Compliant or Non Compliant input: Dwell on either the compliant or non compliant button to provide the response, and complete this type of step.
6. Basic Step Type: This step does not require a specific input, so can be used to provide guidance or information. In which case continuing to the next step is all that is needed.
To complete the step, you can either:
- Dwell the reticle on the forward arrow on the right of the window
- Set up auto-complete via the settings so that once you have completed the required inputs, the step will move on without requiring the selection of the forward arrow.
You must enter a response when required in order to move to the next step. You may go backwards at any time to edit responses before completing a workflow.
4. How to capture a photo in a workflow
You may capture photo(s) on any step. A step may also require photo(s) to be captured.
When a photo attachment is required
- When a step requires one or multiple photos to be captured, the step displays a Photos section with a red counter (see below).
- The counter displays the number of captured images and the number of images required.
- Once the required number of photos have been captured, the red counter turns green and allows for the step to be completed.
To capture a photo - either when it is required or as an optional choice - dwell on the persistent blue button in the bottom right corner of the window as shown
Then select the camera icon. (The flag icon represents a different scenario, which is covered in a separate section. Learn more about how to add a flag to a step).
Taking the photo
The camera viewfinder and countdown timer will offer guidance while you're taking the photo.
Confirming or cancelling the photo
Once the photo is captured, you may either delete and start again - by selecting the trash receptacle icon-, or save the photo by selecting the blue arrow button. You may also select the magnifying glass icon to review the photo in more detail before making a decision.
Once completed, the photo appears attached to the step as a thumbnail.
To remove a photo, dwell on the thumbnail to open the preview window and select the trash receptacle icon.
5. How to open a reference image in a workflow
Reference images are added to steps in a workflow using the Workflow Builder via the web suite.
They can then be viewed on the Mira Prism headset to inform and guide the operator during execution of the workflow.
If a step has reference image(s), they will appear in the step represented by a thumbnail, with a small blue notification identifying the number of reference images available.
There is no set limit on the number of reference images which can be associated to a step.
Opening a reference image
To open a reference image, dwell on the thumbnail.
Reference images open in a separate UI window as shown below. If there are multiple reference images, arrows to the side of the image will indicate the ability to cycle through to the next image.
Closing a reference image
To close the reference image preview window, select the red cross in the upper right corner to return to the main step.
You can also cycle between the image viewer UI window and the workflow step by selecting between the two icons displayed on the left of the window.
Inspecting a reference image in more detail
To zoom in on the image, dwell on the magnifying glass button in the bottom right corner of the preview window, as shown above.
Once selected, the magnifying glass button turns green and allows you to move the reticle around on the image, zooming in on the portion of the image as shown.
To exit the magnifying glass view, dwell on the same button again in the bottom right.
6. How to add a Flag to a step in a workflow
It is possible to add a Flag in the form or video(s) or image(s) to any step, incase something important is noted during completion of the workflow that needs to be reported back to the team.
That step will be Flagged in the report. This differs from choosing to capture an image for additional reference, which does not create a Flagging event on the report.
Accessing the flag option
To Flag a video or photo on a step, dwell on the blue button at the bottom of every step
Once selected, the button reveals two options - take a photo, or create a Flag. To create a Flag, dwell on the flag button.
Choosing reason and media type
You'll be able to choose the reason for capturing the Flag from the options shown. Then you'll choose whether to Flag the step with an image or video attachment. You may select "cancel" to return to the step, or dwell on “Done” to flag the step.
If you select to Flag the step with an image, the process for capturing the photo is the same as previously described.
Capturing a video
To capture a video, frame the video using the viewer finder, the dwell on the record button to begin recording.
The button turns red to confirm video recording is in progress, and the timer confirms the video length. The viewfinder displays a live stream of what is being recorded.
Note: there is no set limit on the length of video recording. However video clips longer than 3 minutes are not recommended due to the impact this can have on upload duration.
Completing a video recording
To end the recording, dwell on the video button again.
After the video has been recorded, you can view it using standard playback options before you decide to cancel or save.
Dwell on the red trash receptacle icon to delete. To confirm save, dwell on the blue arrow button.
Once the Flag has been captured, it will be displayed on the step as a red Flag attachment, along with the originally provided reason (eg "Error in step", as shown below).
Removing a Flag
Dwell on the flag attachment to re-open for editing or deleting.
7. How to open Connect or Settings while completing a Workflow
It's possible to launch a Connect call to another member of your Mira organization during the completion of a workflow, or to access settings at any time.
To do so, dwell on the app menu button in the top right corner of the window.
This opens the app launcher. Dwell to open Connect or settings while still continuing the progress of the workflow.
Returning to workflow during a Connect call
To return back to the workflow while on the call, follow the same process of selecting the app launcher icon in the Connect window, and selecting Flow.
You can also use the red “X” button in the top right to close the app launcher and return back to Flow.
Note that the Flow UI window seen on the Prism headset does not display in the Connect Call to the remote participant.
8. How to end a workflow before completion
It is possible to cancel or abandon a workflow. Such a scenario may include when a workflow has been started in error. Or when a workflow may require a change to the steps before it's possible to complete it.
To end a workflow before completion, you can select the red “x” button found in the upper right that appears on every step.
At the exist screen, you have the option to:
- Exit the workflow, in which case the workflow will be reported with the Workflow status as “Abandoned”.
- Confirm there was an issue with this step or workflow, which automatically reports the workflow status as “Non compliant".
You may also decide to use the Flagging option described in the section to note the issue at the step which caused the end of the workflow before completion.
9. How to complete a workflow
Once you complete the final step in the workflow, the completion confirmation window will be displayed. This window confirms that the outcome of the workflow as “Compliant” (completed).
Note: If there is a Compliance step type included which was answered as “Non Compliant”, then this confirmation window will display “Non Compliant” instead of "Compliant".
You may return back to the app launcher, or logout immediately so that the headset is ready for another user to login.
10. How to upload a workflow
Once you have either exited or completed a workflow, the results will be automatically uploaded to the Mira web suite as a report when the Mira Prism app is online and you are logged in. The upload status of workflows is displayed in the upload tab.
Note: if you log out before workflows are uploaded, those workflows will not upload again until the next time you log back in while online. Only the workflows you exited or completed are uploaded from your iPhone device when you are logged in.
11. How to pause and resume a workflow
This feature is not explicitly called out on the headset yet. However, it is possible to pause the workflow using the following process:
i. At the point during a workflow where you would like to pause, select the app menu icon from the header as shown: (instead of ending the workflow via "x" or continuing the workflow)
ii. This will open the app launcher window. From the app launcher window, select the logout button to log out of the headset (logging out is required to maintain the step in the workflow for the next time you log-in, and stop the timer):
iii. When you want to continue with the Flow, just log back in on the same headset and open the Flow app. The Flow app will open at the last step you were at, and can be continued.
